The Gibson Award offers young artists aged 21 and under who are resident in Inverclyde an opportunity to exhibit in the McLean Museum and Art Gallery and compete for prizes in a number of categories.

This exhibition showcases some of the wonderful art and design work currently being carried out in Inverclyde’s seven secondary schools.

Local Heroes - James Watt

13 – 20 March

The Local Heroes exhibition celebrates 350 years of the Royal Society through the work of Greenock local hero and member of the Society, James Watt. He invented a portable copying press that was in indispensible until the photocopier came into use. His genius will be remembered in art work and poetry created by school pupils in this unique exhibition.
